These meditations are meant to give you a deep, intuitive understanding and activation of the frequency meaning of each hue in the color spectrum. You can return to these meditations to activate a mood or develop a more intimate relationship with color. Listen while you paint or set designated time aside for each color to activate your senses!

We touch upon composition, color, and line shape while exploring our intuition as a strong foundation for what we make.

In this three-part video series, we examine the guidelines of composition versus the rules of composition. We examine balance, repetition, color, value, and space, bringing all these elements together with harmony and balance. We begin with an art prompt meditation and then a demonstration through three videos you can follow at home. We share philosophical ideas in art as well as historical and contemporary content.
Paint Big: A Mixed Media Process Tutorial
This workshop took place over three days in 2019 in Lauren's studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Sometimes, the idea of painting big can seem quite daunting. But the more we practice, the easier it gets. Learn some new idea-generating exercises you can return to repeatedly as a prompt to get you going. Enjoy various demonstrations and discussions over the weekend, from the philosophical to the practical, about making art and working big. You do not have to paint BIG to benefit from this tutorial.
The Alchemy of Mixed Media Series
Making art is born out of chaos. It’s not something that can be taught step-by-step. I have been teaching the Alchemy of Mixed Media for three decades. In this video series, I walk you through my creation process from the ground up. Alchemy is not only an external phenomenon, witnessing a combination of materials combine to create something bigger than the sum of its parts, but it is also an internal process. As we discern our likes and dislikes of materials and content, we begin to mature. We cover techniques like handmade gesso, acrylic gesso as a base, collage, and other wet and dry materials like acrylic paint and oil. This includes an introduction to the use of encaustic with mixed media.
