As visual artists, we often feel words get in the way and that our art should speak for itself. However, clearly communicating about our work through writing and speaking builds confidence. It is an important aspect when getting serious about bringing our work into the outer world.

I believe one of the best ways to get super clear about what exactly we are trying to convey with our work is to first ditch the art jargon and explore and cement into practice- our own personal way- our own individualized voice. The practice of creating an artist statement, ( different than a bio) if done correctly, can propel us into deeper relationship. First with ourselves and the work, then with community, and or galleries and exhibits we may be submitting for.

Over the course of three private hour long zoom sessions- together we will hone and edit your writing statement into a powerful narrative that discerns and explains- the why you make art, the what you actually make and how you do it.
