Orchestrating Your Own Soul Narration
Can you all feel the electricity in the air?
As an astrology practitioner, I am sensitive to how celestial bodies affect life. We currently have a stellium of planets moving through the constellation of Gemini. Gemini is an air sign, and it’s very mental. It rules communication, thought processes, ideas, and sensory information from both the conscious and unconscious layers. It is also the taskmaster of writing.
Strike while the iron is hot. Meaning, get those ideas down on paper. Write a poem, sing a song, or paint a painting!
When we don’t create space for these energies to express themselves and take advantage of the support from the stars, an underlying current of anxiety can manifest.
I am no stranger to such feelings. They get me right in the gut, making me feel twisted and out of sync. I lose my key, break my glasses, and scream at my computer.
Then, as if in protest, my computer retaliates by sending signals of glitches as if to say, “Oh yeah, take that.”
Just today, my phone fell into the water. So, I immersed it in rice, but then the rice got stuck where the battery plugs in. And on and on…
Instead of going with the flow that the cosmos is directing me (with such obvious clues as this knot in my stomach), I have sensory overload.
For the HSP (highly sensitive person), it can begin to feel like madness working to keep up with plugs, gadgets, and passwords that our life is now inundated with. Never mind the news and the world! I had to give the collective state of trauma, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
And if you are an HSP, as most creatives are, it can feel like you just can’t escape feeling it all—unless, of course, you are ok with staying comfortably numb and checked out. And no, checking out does not mean going to paint or writing a poem as an escape.
Creativity is an actual healing balm of self-care. When we create, we enter a vibration that not only assists us as individuals but also sends signals out to all, which is a universal state of consciousness—practicing creativity mines the right brain beta waves for the benefit of humanity.
The creative field is a vortex where new ideas can spring forth and awaken oneself and others from apathy.
Self-care has never been more needed.
Can we all take a big breath and ask ourselves, what act of creativity can I do today?
Stick your hands in the dirt and plant some flowers.
Jot down in a prose format what you're grateful for in this precious life.
I did one today…
When rain meets dirt, the permeating smell feels like a cleanse to my being-ness.
I am grateful for the abundance of paintings I have made over the decades.
I am grateful for my art studio, where alchemy meets a communication that words can’t describe.
I am grateful for the creatives who want to come to the studio and paint with me. I am grateful for the amazing spirit humans who show up and share a life with me, especially when I most need help. You all know who you are—angels.
I am especially grateful for the pile of papers on my floor and folders on my computer that want to come forth as a book.
I’m even grateful that I will get to love up my computer, shuffle through the files, and begin the editing process of writing.
Let’s not let ourselves grow numb. Get out there and share some creative fire. The more we are, the faster we heal ourselves and the planet!
I am heading to Ghost Ranch in Abiqui, New Mexico, this week with my two-year mentorship program, Dive Deep. I am not bringing my computer. We will vision together, meditate, walk, paint, write, eat, and sleep. Then, we will repeat. I am beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to do this.
Our next Dive Deep group in a small, supportive container starts in March 2025. Contact me to discuss whether this is the right fit.
Upon return, I am back to the abundance of my life with painting, writing, and working with groups that want to share.
Our next six-week Wednesday Open Painting Sessions begins June 26th from 1:30 to 4:30 here in Santa Fe. Materials are included. Just bring yourself; I can get you started wherever you are. The cost is $595. You can call or write me for a drop-in at $110. We would love to have you join us!
My next workshop, Soul Narration, is September 19th—22nd. This is an excellent opportunity to spark your creative fire by connecting to your intuition's deep inner resources through paint and collage. We will work with meditations that guide us through the chakras. We will discover each energy's meaning through color and symbolic language, which are powerful elixirs for any art practice. We will collage, paint, and share in a safe container in my Santa Fe studio.
I want to create a more holistic journey for myself and all around me!
Stay tuned for more offerings in collaboration with sound artists, intuitive, astrologers, and more.
With Love,
Lauren
