The Benefits of Creating in a Group Setting

I love working with groups in a live setting. There is something magical that takes place when we are painting side-by-side. It’s intimate. Through our peripheral boundaries, we tap into a connection. We don’t necessarily see it while working. We sometimes feel it, but often it’s not till the end. Over the years I have witnessed extraordinary shared experiences come out in a group. We surf the waves of highs and lows together reminding us that we are not alone.

Learned techniques, shared materials, and finished products are all naturally a part of the art process. However, there is something very special about the shared container that keeps me teaching in live group settings again and again.

Especially poignant at this time in our lives as we come out of isolation, separation, and uncertainty and into a new unknown. Painting brings healing of the past the process informs the path for the future ahead. Not only for ourselves, but I believe when done with the right intention, for the planet as well.

Take a risk and come paint in a group. It usually leads to a personal original insight.
